The orchid exhibition at Longwood Gardens was a delight- I especially loved the vibrancy of the blue orchid! With so many beautiful blossoms bursting in the wildest colors, you almost expect they'd sing you a song!

maxi dress: xxi // platform wedges: nine west // cardigan: BC // bag: mondani // silk scarf: MidEast

My goal right now? A closet full of maxi dresses! I love the simplicity of it- just throw it on with a pair of sandals and you're set looking chic. There's no fakery involved - you don't just look like you effortlessly threw something on & look stunning...that's actually exactly what happened. Who doesn't love that? Especially me, not a morning person. After hitting snooze for the 15th time, I wake up 20 minutes before I need to leave my house and throw on the first things I can reach for, apply a little make-up, and say a prayer while stepping through my morning beauty routine that my hair looks good today. I have this down to an art, but if I can throw on a dress, and not worry if my top matches my bottom, that gives me a few extra precious minutes to make a cup of tea. Perfect.

Additionally, I love the utterly understated, feminine essence of a long dress/skirt, as well as the breezy, cool, lightness they offer for the summer months. As I've mentioned before, I dread the banality of summer dressing. Maxi dresses add that much needed color & intrigue without dealing with feeling sticky & hot.

Any piece of clothing that can leave you feeling comfortable, pretty, and uncomplicated is certainly a thing to covet.

dress & chelsea ankle boots: ASOS // blazer-cardigan: kimchi blue // pashmina: from the MidEast

Here are the last of the images from Terrain. If anyone happens upon the chance to explore this place for themselves, you absolutely must [and immediately let me know, I'll probably join you...if I'm not there already]. It not only gets you so excited for spring, but stirs some dormant gardening behavior you didn't know you had- a strange urge: must plant a garden of flowers & herbs NOW, somewhere, anywhere!

Terrain is more than a green thumb's dream! The moment you step inside, you are aware that this garden center & cafe is part of the Anthropologie family. Flowers and plants galore, supplies for your garden shed, tools of the kitchen, bath soaps & scrubs - by the end of my exploration I was convinced I could happily become a flower child and live amongst the nature that Terrain cultivates.

Sartorial details: dress: ASOS // blazer-cardigan: Kimchi Blue // vintage bag // scarf from the Middle East

Enjoy the weekend lovelies!

p.s. I won the Nga Waita ring giveaway at Street and City Photos! It is such a cool piece, I can't wait for it's sartorial debut! Thanks to Wallace of Street & City Photos & Nga Waita!
